About Mission Bridgehead

Why Mission? And why now?

Revitalization projects are too complex, costly, and uncertain for landowners to solve independently. Bridgehead plans to make strategic investments that help overcome the challenges impeding landowners from redeveloping their property.

The market and how we are positioned for success

Bridgehead provides up-front investment solutions to make challenging lands development-ready—reducing risk, uncertainty, and development timelines that are critically important to securing private development interest.

The opportunities

The future of the Fraser Valley’s economy relies on diverse companies establishing Mission as their home base. Here’s how MBIC helps advance the opportunities of stakeholders.

Invest in our growth

Mission Bridgehead Investment Corporation is actively seeking partnerships and collaboration to address land use issues, make industrial lands development-ready, and prioritize community interests. Bridgehead offers practical solutions for revitalization projects that benefit landowners, developers, and the community, making it an ideal partner for businesses looking to invest and contribute to the City’s growth and development.

Our business model

Bridgehead is a stand-alone corporation operating at arms-length from the City of Mission. While the City of Mission is its sole shareholder, Bridgehead functions within agreed-upon parameters set out in its Articles of Incorporation—including an independent board of directors and CEO.

Our funding model

Initial funding will come from repurposing City lands for higher and better uses, program funding, and private funding (development applications). The operational mandate is to be self-funding, generate profit, and pay dividends to the City.

In addition to the development corporation mandate, Bridgehead will provide traditional economic development services associated with business retention, expansion, attraction efforts, and lands management.
